Stop the re-zoning of wooded areas in the Pinehurst neighborhood
Stop the re-zoning of wooded areas in the Pinehurst neighborhood

There is a proposed rezoning request for Hernando County Parcel Key #00411931 located on the northeast corner of US 19 (Commercial Way) and Spring Hill Drive/Pinehurst—currently a wooded area serving as a buffer to the neighboring residences.
The proposed rezoning request is to change the zoning from (99) acreage not classified to create eight ( commercial parcels for various commercial C-2 uses including, but not limited to, a gas station/convenience store, drive through restaurant and specialty retail.
Many of the property owners and residents OPPOSE this request and have already held several meetings to plan an opposition strategy. We also have a petition that you may be asked to sign. There is strength in numbers and there also are many reasons residents have opted to OPPOSE the rezoning request. We hope that you will join the group to STOP this request.
Here are a few reasons to OPPOSE the rezoning request: Increased traffic in our neighborhood; additional drainage issues with run-off coming into neighborhood; increased noise 24 hours a day/7 days a week with no buffer; lighting of the area causing sleep interruption; increased transients with potential for increased crime, fast food restaurant with order box operating early in the morning/late at night plus many more reasons!
Help STOP this request TODAY by emailing to OPPOSE Parcel Key 00411931—File H2167 to Mike Fulford, Planning and Zoning Commission Chair, at Fulford6040@brighthouse.com, Ron Pianta, Hernando County Director of Planning and Zoning Services at RPianta@hernandocounty.us and Omar DePablo, Hernando County Planning Department Planner II at ODePablo@hernandocounty.us.
This request is being closely monitored by Pinehurst Concerned Citizens. When this goes before the Hernando County Planning and Zoning Commission it will be VERY IMPORTANT to have residents (owners and tenants) attend the meeting.
If this request is approved, it may affect your quality of life as well as property values/rental income for homeowners!
