Covid cases are on the rise again and not all of the students have been completely vaccinated yet. Many students even have family members (including elderly people) who have received just the first dose of vaccine and are thus not completely safe. Moreover there have been cases reported of covid cases happening even after 2 doses of vaccine.
The commute is not safe to travel in. Since most students have to travel by public transport, they have to face the risk of being exposed to the virus twice daily! The fact that many private local buses have stopped plying means more crowded transportation is imminent making it very tedious for students to travel. Added to that the fear of always being exposed to the virus is too much to bear on a daily basis and is not feasible or practical.
Lastly, we can include the fact that since most of the syllabus is being covered online, it isn't right or justified to take offline exams. We can suggest that if college needs to reopen again it should not be from this semester but rather from the next.
