Petition to stop the change from Comcast to Summit Broadband

This petition had 30 supporters

On October 28th 2016 our Master Association board signed a 10-year agreement with Summit Broadband  to provide cable service to this neighborhood. They did this without consulting the homeowners of the neighborhood. We, the homeowners of Heritage greens, feel that this decision was made illegally, and behind our backs.

We have done our own research and: based on their reviews, based on talking to people and network businesses,  based on their Better Business Bureau rating , we don't feel that Summit can provide the services that we demand in this neighborhood.

We have home businesses in this neighborhood that have had  Comcast email addresses for many years. We have people in this neighborhood with advanced networks in their homes. These people will now be forced to buy new network equipment at their own expense in order to work with the summit product. People with children who use Comcast's Mobile app to watch shows on phones or tablets, will not have that ability with Summit. People who use Comcast for hotspots, lose that ability with Summit. For very very little savings, we are not gaining anything. We are actually losing speed, and lots of features.

Here's the kicker. The contract that Comcast proposed to the board would have included internet with everybody's association fees. They would have also upgraded everybody to the new X1 system at no additional cost. Comcast came in $2 higher than Summit. Comcast's contract stated that they could increase fees after five years. Summits contract says that they can increase fees 6% a year.

Anyone who was here for the Time Warner conversion knows what a nightmare that was. Why would the board put this neighborhood through that again? Because the board decided not to talk to anyone about any of this before they made this decision, so I don't think they understand how they will be affecting people's lives.

We, the homeowners who sign this, not only request that the board void this contract, but by signing this petition we are saying that Summit will not be allowed on our property to make this conversion.
