Laura Harrison started this petition to Herefordshire council and

I have created this petition following the devastating news that Herefordshire Council have once again denied storage space to the amazing voluntary organisation, Herefordshire Community Recycling and Reuse Group, run by Andrew Wood. This is unbelievable considering the support that Andrew and his team of volunteers gives to those in need in Herefordshire, while supporting Herefordshire Council and providing a hugely valued and successful way for Herefordshire residents to recycle their unwanted goods in order to benefit other residents of our county.

The group simply cannot continue without a decent storage facility which the county council could and should provide! The council owes this to the people of the county they serve, let alone this group of volunteers who work so hard!

It is so disappointing that they are not receiving the support they need when various council departments rely on their work, as well as local social workers and others. The council ought to be so grateful for these amazing local people who have taken it upon themselves to support our county in this way!

I urge the council to ensure that suitable storage is found immediately so that this group can continue its essential work. Understandably, the volunteers are becoming incredibly disheartened and will be unable to continue if no storage is found. This would be a devastating loss for the county!!

I also want to thank Andrew Wood and the team of volunteers personally for the invaluable work they are doing for our county. He deserves support from us all!

As well as signing this petition, please also email your local councillors, Paul Walker CEO, and your local MPs regarding this issue! We, the people of Herefordshire, must stand up and be heard!
