Today, April 1, 2020, it was announced that all California schools will be closing for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. Speaking for the class of 2020, I'd like to say that the majority of us are devastated that not only our GradNight and Senior Prom, but also our Graduation Ceremony will most likely be canceled. We feel that the 12 years of hard work we've put in to reach this huge milestone will not be celebrated the way every other senior class has and will. Even though I know that our school administration and school district are doing everything in their power to keep us safe and are attempting to push certain events, I wanted to make this petition to show just how many students, parents, and people in general want for senior events to happen. Hopefully this petition could help push to have our senior events postponed to some time during summer, or whenever is safe, and not completely canceled. Thank you to whoever is participating in keeping us safe, and to those who advocate for us to have our events later than never.
