John Phillips started this petition to Her Majesty’s Government

Liberation. 6th June 1944.

Perhaps, given the number of veterans will diminish year upon year, now is the time for Her Majesty’s Government to introduce into all Schools a dedicated subject day into the curriculum so that future generations will remember the strength & tenacity of all those in the UK during WW2 that led to the freedom of Europe. Surely this should not require an ‘on-line’ petition?

Schools celebrate  Christmas & other religious events, we have of lessons focussed on the ethnic heritage, we remember the planned extermination of millions, we have Remembrance Sunday with it’s emphasis on WW1 ...... Now is the time to remember, commemorate & celebrate forever the actions of all those, both Armed Forces & civilians, that fought the biggest battle through to the bitter end?
