Save The Special Needs Program of Henry County

The special needs program of Henry County, Georgia is in jeopardy. The Board of Education has decided to take action to re-position the students enrolled in the program to different schools around the county. This change would see students with high-functioning autism moved to a new environment, and these students need a stable environment in order to learn and be successful in school without added stress. Furthermore, students would be moved based on the type of disability they battle. This would result in students who have become familiar with their friends in the program and other regular education students in their school, being separated from the people they have grown comfortable with. As a member of the Partner's Club, I work with these students regularly and have built relationships with them. Not only would saving their program help them significantly, regular education students would not lose friends in their peers in the program.
