We are candidates of Express Entry for Canadian Permanent Residency (Federal Skilled Workers and Provincial Nominee Applicants) which have been transferred to Montreal Visa Office for months now and we have spent months on the background check stage for travel history and past visa  refusals as compared to other Visa Offices which takes less than 45 days.

This has changed our PR processing time from 6 months to 1 year. This petition is an appeal to the relevant authorities to encourage Montreal Visa Officers to start processing the PR applications within the standard 6 Months period. The delay is worrisome for the applicants who are patiently waiting to receive their approvals. Applicants who submitted their applications in 2021 are now receiving their Ready for visa emails which most of them had to renew their medicals to be issued their visa from Montreal visa office.

And also with the processing pace of the PR applications by the Montreal Visa Office, our applications would fall under the new backlogs of pending application waiting for visa approvals.
