Protect our Children Online - Force our Government to make the changes needed now

This petition had 214 supporters

“Countless young people are being groomed and abused online every minute of every day. They are scared and unnecessarily feeling guilty. This leads to a great number of them self-harming, wanting to commit suicide or become prone to further relentless online bullying. “

It is our aim to raise the issues and dangers of being online that young people are facing daily; forcing the Government take urgent action.  One off sessions in school are not sufficient. If they were then there would not be so many children at risk. Almost 1 in 5 teenagers (ages 14 to 17) have been subjected or involved in nude or sexual texting. 11% of girls ages 12 to 14 have been involved with sending or receiving sexually explicit messages.

We need to ensure that parents understand what their children are exposing themselves to and the dangers they may face as a result. Social Media sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter must accept responsibility for their part in protecting young people.

These are our children and we need to raise the awareness of online dangers, to prevent so many sad cases. This is the only way we will stop sexual predators and sexualised bullying.

Your vote could help to save a young child's life. Please vote and share. Many thanks for your valuable and critical support.

Together we can make a difference!!
