Extreme sports are everywhere. TV, Movies, social media, around town, and now an Olympic sport. The chances are that if you are not a skateboarder, you know someone who is. This also applies to BMX, scooters, & rollerskates. So it comes as a surprise that our beautiful city only has one crowded & outdated skatepark. Almost everywhere you go you’ll find a basketball court, tennis court, or baseball diamond. Yet when it comes to skateboarding, BMX, skates, or scooters, these athletes have very little choice but to ride on sidewalks, on the streets, school campuses, parking lots, and other places around town. Simply put, if our city doesn’t have easily accessible skateparks then the city IS the skatepark. The bottom line is that these athletes need a place to go. Our goal is to generate enough interest in our local community to build more, easily accessible skateparks. By building these skateparks, not only are we offering kids a closer, safer place to ride, but we’re also facilitating their passion for the sport & the opportunity to hone their craft. With your assistance, we will be able to present the city with enough interest to make this possibility a reality. With your signatures, we can let the city know that we support these athletes and their passion for the sport. Sign the petition and help us create the skateparks they deserve!
