Laws being brought up that criminalize camping on public or private property are not helping those being hurt by housing crisis. The homeless population is only getting larger as the housing crisis continues. Slapping the homeless with a felony, punishable up to 6 years, will only further hurt this population. They cannot just disappear or find housing. We need positive action to further help not punishment. They did not request to be poor or be stuck in this mess. We are only hurting those who are not able to help themselves due to a crisis that they did not initiate or have control over. All resources have been limited and in some area's nonexistent. Section 8 and other programs have been consistently getting harder to obtain or unable to obtain. Making people criminals due a failing system is cruel and inhumane.
