Why this petition matters

                                                 Hawksbill Turtles
                         What’s Wrong
Did you know Hawksbill turtles are critically endangered because of 3 main reasons
1.) Coral bleaching. Coral bleaching is where coral bleaching turns white and dies due to stressors such as temperature change, light change and lack of nutrients. These turtles live in coral reefs and those coral reefs are dying because of climate change, and climate change is a thing because of us!
2.) Plastic Waste. We’ve been dumping plastic trash in the ocean for years and if you didn’t know these turtles favourite food is jellyfish so sometimes a turtle will see a plastic bag, think it’s a jellyfish, eat it and die! An again it’s because of us!
3.) Jewellery. I know you won’t believe this but poachers catch hawksbill turtles, cut of there shells and use it for jewellery and then they trade it illegally like it’s elephant ivory! Again all our fault, well mostly☹

                                  How We Can Help
Although you may thinks there’s now way to help, there is!
And it’s very simple. All you have to do is donate to TeamSeas. If you don’t want spend money that’s fine, if you want every now and then you could go to a local beach and pick up any trash you see on the shore line.

                            Why We Should Help
Did you know female Hawksbill turtles lay about 122 eggs in a life time meaning if we do help these turtles can start to have a better chance of surviving. If you didn’t know hawksbill turtles favourite snack is a nice juicy jellyfish so if we help them, that will mean less jellyfish stings at the beach. Another reason is that Hawksbills help maintain the health of coral reefs. As they remove prey such as sponges from the reef's surface, they provide better access for reef fish to feed. They also have cultural significance and tourism value.
