Today, Native children experience some of the highest levels of poverty in our country, which greatly impact their academic and life opportunities. We know, though, that change is possible, through the efforts of Native leaders and allies from all over the country to support their vision.
Teach For America is committed to ensuring that all kids of Native backgrounds have an opportunity to attain an excellent education.
In 2010, we launched the Native Achievement Initiative to deepen our partnerships with Native communities Currently, over 400 corps members are teaching more than 15,000 children from Native backgrounds in New Mexico, South Dakota, Oklahoma and Hawaii.
Join us as we celebrate Native American Heritage Month this November and recognize the accomplishments of Native children and communities and our leaders who serve them.
Show your support for expanding education opportunity for Native students. Sign the pledge today and share it with your friends and family.
