Why this petition matters

In the Philippines, there are millions of stray pets roaming the streets, most of whom are homeless and have irresponsible owners. The vast majority of these animals are cats or dogs, and their numbers are rapidly increasing as a result of street breeding and unplanned births.

The inhumane treatment of stray dogs is a widespread issue that is frequently linked to insufficient feeding, a lack of proper hygiene, and merciless slaughter that causes terror in its victims. In this view, hunger is an ache that occurs when one's stomach is empty. Fear is an unpleasant sensation that one feels when they believe they are in danger. Exacerbating the issues while severely undermining the rule of law in the Philippines.

Many animals are slaughtered in the Philippines because they are considered a nuisance in our society. Each city pound euthanizes an average of 200 dogs per month.
