Help Stop Library@BigIron “BAR” from obtaining their “Mixed Beverage” license
Our neighborhood on Old Marble Falls Road is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country in Round Mountain, Texas. Most of us bought land here and built our forever homes to raise our families here in a peaceful & tranquil country setting.
A small tract of land at 1905 Old Marble Falls Road(Red Barn) was recently purchased by Greg & Karen Johnson of the Chicago area. A notice was posted on their property on 3/14/22 revealing their intent to obtain a “Mixed Beverage” license from TABC. A neighborhood meeting was held at their barn shortly after that, and although it was stated by them that they do not intend on opening a “saloon” or a “bar” their social media business page states otherwise, listing their business as a “Bar”.

Several neighbors(around 15 families) were represented at the neighborhood meeting and many asked Greg & Ren questions and voiced concerns such as, drinking & driving, noise, increased traffic, safety concerns regarding children getting off of school buses, parking on the county road, as well as the possibly of this setting a precedence for other similar type retail businesses(where alcohol is served) to open up on our quiet county road in the future. There is also the huge concern of most neighbors that their proposed business may evolve into something bigger later on, such as a wedding venue or a brewery.
Our quiet residential area does not need a BAR right smack in the middle of our neighborhood. Maybe on Hwy 290 near Fredericksburg, but not here! Our barely-wide-enough two-lane road (without painted lines)is very narrow with some windy curves and it also serves as our local schools' bus route. Our children walk across the road after being let off of their bus after school. We take walks and jogs along our road. Some even ride their horses along the side of the road. We do not need more traffic or the possibility of customers leaving the proposed business and possibly drinking & driving on our county road.
PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION to hopefully encourage Greg & Karen Johnson to reconsider their plans to obtain a “Mixed Beverage” license and to not go forward with their plan of opening up their Bar/furniture store/library, a retail business that serves alcohol in our residential neighborhood, which could be devastating to our quality of life here in the country. A place that we call HOME.
Kip & Brandy did not start this petition to be malicious or ugly, but to protect our family, as well as the families of those that live on our road and in our area from possible drunk drivers, unnecessary noise and from other possible similar type businesses being started on our road in the future.
A copy of this petition will be forwarded to TABC in an effort to protest their ability to obtain their Mixed Beverage license, as well as shared with the Johnson’s to hopefully change their mind.
PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION!
THANK YOU!!
