RICHARD MOORE age 57, a SOUTH CAROLINA inmate was sentenced to death on April 29, 2022 for the shooting of store clerk James Mahoney. The article reads “During Moore’s 2001 trial, prosecutors said Moore entered the store looking for money to support his cocaine habit and got into a dispute with Mahoney, who drew a pistol that Moore wrestled away from him.

Mahoney pulled a second gun, and a gunfight ensued. Mahoney shot Moore in the arm, and Moore shot Mahoney in the chest. Prosecutors said Moore left a trail of blood through the store as he looked for cash, stepping twice over Mahoney.”

1st- Yes, Moore did enter the store looking for money however he was unarmed! Keep in mind the article did not state he had the intentions of robbing the place, even if he did rob the place that isn't enough for a DEATH PENALTY. I have reviewed plenty of death penalty cases and no case is similar, all in which they committed  harsh crimes. I disagree because the store clerk pulled a gun on MOORE which could have leaded to death however MOORE acted in self defense as the clerk MAHONEY pulled another gun and MOORE then shot the clerk with his own gun. Also, MOORE has served 23 years already which I have done research and concluded that MURDER/ROBBERY serves about this length of a sentence or even shorter. How is it that pedophiles, rapists and etc get to live? Not to mention are let out of prison/jail within 5-20 years and death penalty never mentioned. 

This man has served more than enough time! DEATH PENALTY IS HARSH IN THIS CASE AND ISN'T ACCEPTABLE. The state of SOUTH CAROLINA knows this is ridiculous! Not to mention the options this man have. 1- Let multiple officers shoot you in the heart with riffles, 2- Electric chair 3- Lethal injection COME ON SOUTH CAROLINA DO BETTER!!!!!!!

We as people have to stand up and stop this disgusting mess. HELP MOORE COME HOME!!!! HELP MOORE SURVIVE!!! JUSTICE FOR MOORE!
