Help Save the Marian Shrine of Gratitude!
Why this petition matters
The Marian Shrine of Gratitude on 3100 Weston Rd in Toronto is threatened to be closed down, and the land redeveloped. For almost 20 years, it has been a place of worship for people of different faiths, not just Catholics. Many attest to it being a place of spiritual growth and answered prayers, and many flock there to this day. It is open 24 hours a day.
The Marian Shrine of Gratitude is the property of the Ukrainian Basilian Fathers. Since the passing of Fr. Basil Cembalista, the priest who first started and maintained this shrine in 2018, this place has been under the gentle care of ordinary faithful who would gather to pray for their needs, the needs of others, and peace in the world. But now, developers will tear it down this Wednesday, August 16.
Like never before, our world needs our sincere prayers for peace; this place brings many of them together. The shrine is like a paradise on earth, where everyone is welcomed and can find comfort and hope in Our Lady. Please help us keep this shrine alive by signing this petition, telling others about this place, and letting church leaders hear your voices!
