Help Save the Carriage Horses of Old Sacramento

Old Sacramento is a a much beloved slice of Sacramento history for both long time residents of the city as well as those who come to visit.

One of the most spectacular sights proudly prancing down the cobbled streets are our beautiful and impeccably cared for carriage horses.

These working animals are now under attack by misguided animal "rights" groups who want to deny them the right to enjoy doing the job that they love to do. Not only will stopping the carriage rides hurt the horses who look forward to strutting their stuff during their shifts, but it also hurts their owners who have put years into training and maintaining these magnificent animals and earn a living from the rides.

Especially with unemployment incredibly high in our area, we cannot afford to deny work to ANY BEING - human or equine.

Mayor Johnson, we ask you to restate your support for our horses and let the world know that you and the people of Sacramento will not be bullied by inaccurate hysteria and outright lies by fringe radicals who should be spending their time helping our struggling animal control agencies and local rescues and less time fabricating false claims of inhumane treatment.

Our carriage horses are well cared for, well loved, love what they do - and they have a RIGHT to keep on doing it!
