Students at Washington Highschool , have had most of their freedom stripped from them to only benefit the administration and or staff. We feel as if we don’t have the freedom to state our opinion or how we feel. If our opinion is stated ,they take it as we are “telling them how to do there job” I know because it has been said to multiple students including myself . We aren’t able to use the bathroom without permission and most times even told to wait . We don’t get the normal activities or opportunities as normal highschool students such as pep rally’s , decent school dances , senior nights etc. Administration will let one kid ruin it for the whole school which shouldn’t be the case at all. We are not able to use earbuds at all once we step foot in the school unless we are eating lunch with that being said most students use music to help them concentrate. That is the same as the phones we cannot use them unless we are at lunch . Whereas if we are on our phones they are completely taken and shut off and put in a Manila envelope and we aren’t to get them until the end of our school day . We as students have to go 4- 8 hours without our phone meaning we cannot get ahold of parents unless we go to the office . Half of the time the office is busy and cannot provide the phone use to call our parents . As of dress code we as students male and female should be able to where what we feel comfortable in without our normal body parts being sexualized by middle aged men and women. Most teachers in our school have shown that they have no respect for us as students or human beings . We thank the teachers who treat us as they should and as the adults we are about to become everyday and we appreciate them heavily. As a student at Washington we feel as if we aren’t cared for or thought of in the way that we should be . They put it out there to the public as if they care but that is not the case . Our students are disrespected on a daily basis and false accused regularly which shouldn’t be the case in a highschool. Us as students want our freedom back and have been told our voices aren’t being heard or don’t matter the way that they should . We are the youth and future of this world, they remind us that daily. Yet they don’t treat us as if we are.  WE WILL HAVE OUR VOICES HEARD EVEN IF THEY DONT WANT TO HEAR THEM.  P.s information will soon be out on when we as students will bring this to the school board .
