Throughout history the Shia of Imam Ali (a.s.) have suffered from atrocious crimes and continuous discrimination. Many people have lost their lives to this. The fight against people who promote hatred towards Shia of Imam Ali (a.s.) has been formidable but unfortunately it has not been enough. Sadly, there has been an increase in ant Shia crimes and attacks. This needs to end now!

On 3rd June 2022 a large group of Muslim extremists gathered outside CineWorld Cinema in Bradford to protest against the screening of the movie 'The Lady of Heaven'

There was in excess of over 200 people involved in the gathering. The main speaker started a tirade of ant Shia abuse and began calling the Shia Muslims 'Kufar' which translates to non Muslims.  The group then began chanting anti Shia abuse.

The main speaker was inciting hatred towards the Shia community, which is a crime. The people in the gathering can be identified by CCTV.

Not a single Muslim councillor has condoned this incident. Bradford Council for Mosques has done nothing.

Muharram is approaching and we the Shia community are fearful that some extremist from this group may do something against us.

We as a small minority now feel scared, under threat and fear for our safety. We demand the authorities identify the main speaker involved and the people at the gathering and take decisive action and condone this incident.

We ask for police protection in the Jaloos and during Muharram outside our places of worship.

The Shia community demands MP Naz Shah help the Shia community and take appropriate action against the people involved in the incident.
