High school seniors throughout the Montebello Unified School District are currently working on college applications and trying to fix their past grades . Unfortunately, students are not being given a second chance to fix their past mistakes, or take classes they were unable to take because of other academic circumstances. Due to the school board's decision not to start credit recovery towards the beginning of the school year, it applies unnecessary stress on seniors and hurts their college application process. By starting credit recovery so late in the year, it forces students to not only study for their finals and complete projects, but their credit recovery classes, and early admission college applications.
