The Atlanta Cauldron Project wants to bring back the memories of the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games by moving the cauldron into a much, greater place of honor, such as its home, Turner Field, or the cultural hub of the city, Centennial Olympic Park.

While other Olympic cities celebrate and even cash in on their caldrons, Atlanta’s Olympic icon languishes at the traffic-choked intersection of Fulton Street and Hank Aaron Drive. It once was the center of worldwide exhilaration as Muhammad Ali lit the flame to open the Games, the caldron now idles in obscurity next to a parking lot.
