13 trillion plastic bags are used every year, 1 million plastic bottles are used every minute and the United States only recycles about 34% of materials out of the billions of pounds of trash we generate.

San Marcos Texas is home to the Texas State Bobcats, a beautiful city known for the Blanco River. Many people have noticed the amount of trash floating around the city, especially in Sewell Park and the river itself when floating.

It starts at home, mandating recycling bins in every student living complex is the first step to cleaning the city up. Places such as The Villages on Telluride has already mandated them and (from personal experience after living there for so long) the complex is much cleaner.
