Why this petition matters

Started by Sir Brandon Clark

On Sunday June 12, 2022 Greenwood Gallery owner Queen Alexander was threatened by her landlord, Kajeer Yar, that she would be evicted due to community activities. He accused her of "subleasing" her unit for a community 'Wing Competition' that took place outside of the gallery not inside the space. The event was to bring local and out-of-state food trucks together to build community and hold space for the Black Citizens of Tulsa.

She is the only Black Owned gallery in the state of Oklahoma and has held space for so many vendors, children, and Black Artists that would have not had an opportunity to showcase their artwork in any other galleries in the state.

Kajeer Yar (landlord of the space), has the power to revoke his action and continue letting Queen be a tenant of the space. Queen has paid her rent on time, haven't caused any harm to any individuals, and has been nothing but an amazing neighbor to the other tenants around.

With your signature, we're able to fight for her and keep the space open.
