There is an amazing sporting facility being built beside the new housing development Spring View, on the Carnew road.

We as residents of the estate are excited to see such an amazing asset coming to Gorey.

While we are excited and looking forward to it, we have been made aware of a major issue and concern, that was not highlighted upon the purchase of our forever homes.

Currently there are 8 residents in the estate.

When purchasing our homes our contracts showed plans that are very different to what had been approved by Wexford County Council.

Our plans showed a regular estate safe for children, but current plans, that we weren't made aware of, have an entrance to the sports facility on the main road of our estate. We have met with TDs and Counsellors, who all agree, that having the main entrance to the  sports facility in the estate is a big safety concern.  

However there is perfectly suitable vehicular access all ready in place from the Killnahue Lane, part of the plans already include a drop off point at this entrance. So it won't take much to develop this drop off point into a proper entrance to the sports facility.

The sports  facility comes with parking spaces which would be of great use to parents doing drop off and pick up to Educate Together and the Gaelscoil and perhaps Creagh College, which would aid congestion on Killnahue Lane.

This isn't  just about traffic.

It's about the safety of our children first and foremost.

We were all sold on a lie.
