Help keep Masjid Kabir Open. Petition AH Investments Ltd to renegotiate contracts.

The Issue

I feel passionate about Masjid Kabir (Mauldeth Road, M19 1AB) having to close down at its current premises.

It is starting to play an integral part of the local community. It's not just a place of worship but a hub of local gatherings where people learn, understand and respect cultural, ethical and moral values. It acts as a social junction and supports members.

Unfortunately, the existence of Masjid Kabir is in jeopardy due to the breakdown in discussions with AH Investments Ltd, the current owner. Therefore the mosque will close, creating a void in the community.

Islam is an extensive part of Burnage's rich cultural tapestry, with approximately 20% of its population identifying as Muslim (according to the UK 2011 Census). The mosque serves as an essential resource for this community.

Furthermore, it also promotes interfaith dialogue and understanding, thus contributing to community cohesion in diverse Burnage.

We urge the concerned parties (AH Investments Ltd of 23 Three Acres Lane, Cheadle Hulme, SK8 6GS) to reconsider the contracts and keep Masjid Kabir open for its worshippers and the broader community. With your signature, we can communicate the importance of this mosque to the community and help preserve it for generations to come. Please sign the petition today.
