I am here to get assistance on a situation me and numerous other students have with our math teacher, Mrs. Richer. Numerous students including me are tired of the way she teaches and are advocating for change. I am currently taking the class Algebra 2/Geometry B. She also teaches Pre-Calculus and Algebra 1/Geometry A. She should get replaced for three main reasons. 1st of all, she teaches in a way that makes math hard to understand. She is always at her desk teaching and does not come to the board. If she would teach at the board it would help us understand the material better because she would make the lesson more engaging. Math isn’t interesting with her so people aren’t inclined to try their hardest, and she doesn’t explain anything well but expects that everyone already knows it. Rather than to focus on the full benefit of students education, it feels like just feeding information without making sure the students learn it, and then being tested on unfamiliar material. 2nd, she adds problems on tests that we haven’t learned. For example, on our previous math test, polynomial applications, she added a problem of calculus that we haven’t learned yet. She also added another problem about surface area and volume on our test that we never had encountered before. Lastly, she doesn’t prepare us for our tests and quizzes. The types of problems she goes over in class are rarely included on the test, so we can never properly prepare. How are we supposed to perform well on the tests if she doesn’t go over relevant material. This is why I need your help and support to get our math teacher replaced, so we can improve our educational future.
