Help Bring Healthy Organic Food to South Central L.A. - It's a Human Rights Issue!
Why this petition matters
Our movement is to change the landscape of inner and outer city food deserts within our communities. We started off as a family just wanting to eat better and provide better nutritious foods to our families. After 10 years of changing our diets we noticed - well we’ve always noticed - the lack of healthy, organic, vegan and nutritious foods in our communities. And those communities consist of South Central Los Angeles, Inglewood, Compton, Watts, and many deserted areas within Southern California.
Our goal is to bring awareness, develop a co-op, create space whether a brick and mortar or a mobile space that can take up space any and everywhere healthy foods are needed. Our mission is to push the voices of every age of individuals who demand to see change in our food options as well as push our California leadership from the top down, city council to district representation. If we want better we have to demand better and that starts with the dollars we spend and what we spend it on and who we vote for when the time comes. Our goal is to obtain capital and allocate toward organic and vegan based businesses to open up in our communities and ensure that those businesses are owned by people who resemble the communities they serve.
Not only are we advocates for better living, we are advocates for bringing back our dollars to our communities, to ensuring sustainability, promoting the importance of climate change and environmental issues, environmental racism, seeking environmental justice and socioecological repair in our urban communities.
Please sign our petition in support of these efforts to bring Healthy Organic Foods and Food Justice to South Central LA and its sister communities, it is our human right to have healthy food. - @GreenBlackOrganics
