Hi! My name is Domenica. I am 13 years old. I’ve come to a realization that visually impaired people only have a limited amount of resources when it comes to buying goods.

For example, no canned food or anything in a supermarket has braille in the can/label in it, visually impaired people will not know what the can has unless someone reads it to them. Another example would be coloring pencils, why would a blind person need to buy a specific brand of color pencils which has the colors engraved into the color pencil that will most likely be much more expensive than your usual pack of color pencils? Not just in supermarkets is this an issue. Medicine that comes from laboratories to medicine handed to you from pharmacies have this problem too. Packaging and labeling with Braille in it will make the world so much more accessible to visually impaired people, from packaging of food and medications. From goods made locally to imported goods. 

With the signatures in this petition, I will be able to support my argument and be able to take a stand about this. I am not personally visually impaired, but just like you, who are on this site to make a change, I want help visually impaired people have the same quality of life and opportunities that we have.
