Help A Windsor Competitive Gymnastics Club Get Access to their Gym
This petition had 952 supporters
I am a mother of two boys in the competitive gymnastics program at Winstars Gymnastics.
According to provincial regulations and through direction from Gymnastics Ontario, the club was given permission to open for training with their competitive teams on May 29th https://www.gymnasticsontario.ca/update-4-stage-1-opening-framework/. Just before our son's first training session on June 1st, we were notified that for no apparent reason their landlord had locked the doors to the club and as a result, the right for these young athletes access to their sport.
I am hoping that by starting this petition, we can help a local business owner who has been closed for months, regain access to his business, and for my boys and the other kids of the club to be able to return to some kind of normalcy after months of quarantine. Landlords cannot lock out their tenant per Bill 192, Protecting Small Business Act, 2020.
We all want some good news during this difficult time, and we all want our kids to be happy and healthy. There are so many positives, physical and mental, with participating in a sport like gymnastics; and by complying with the proper precautions that Winstars has detailed in their opening protocols, the athletes should not be denied that experience.
Please sign this petition to show our support for a 25 year running Windsor business, and to help get our promising young athletes back to the gym.
