I applaud you making this stand for your kids and others in the same position. I worry myself & that's with an overall fairly capable teenage son with some definite traits and a dyslexic daughter who even with me here, I can't get measures to help her put in place. So important we make a stand for change for our kids while we're here. https://www.change.org/DyslexicFormatExams

I am a single Mum with two disabled sons who both will never be independant. I worry about their long term future.

All little too late for families like mine. Social services ripped me and my 2 boys Lewis and Ryan Freeman apart in 2011 after I asked for help with Ryan and his difficulties (little did I know at the time he was autistic). Social services then concocted a lorry full of lies against me in order to have Lewis placed in long term foster care and Ryan Forcibly Adopted. The social services didn't understand autism but they should have done. The UK Family court wouldn't even allow me to call autism specialists as witnesses because they all knew I was right and they were wrong. Understanding autism should be standard practice for any professional working with children and families. The system has torn far too many families apart already instead of keeping them together.

My sister has come so far with the support she has been given. We don't want to see her building her life up with the guarantee of being knocked back down in her future.

I have had further problems with PIP. I now have help to appeal decision but because I had to appointed my aunt to help with phone assessment I cannot appeal myself. A DWP decision maker has took the view I can’t manage my own affairs. Support with form filling needs to be included in social care. Having funding to support yourself is just as important as help with the other things they provide. I understand that benefits are complicated by they could help find the support. I finally got help front Red2Geen but it would have been much easier if I had help from the start

I had my PIP taken way in February. My aunt had been helping me appeal but is now exhausted so I will have to face it all again. Social care do not help in any away with this and the do not find help any to help with this either. The whole process has been extremely distressing. There was no reasonable adjustment either. I was able to have some of it done over the phone by my aunt but not all. I cannot use phone neither make calls or answers calls and I causes me anxiety. Even when getting my aunt to do some of the phone call on my behalf the suggested I was not able to make decisions for myself because I cannot use the phone. The amount of time they give you to respond makes it very difficult to get help because all the organisation are so under funded and waiting time so long it would be too late. I am extremely distressed that I face going through the whole process again. Having to start again will mean even if I get then decision overturned I will lose the money up until the new claim
