If girls can wear leashes, then I can wear a hat at school
I believe that these dress code rules are outrageous. Dress code is an unnecessary product of the HEBISD school board. It’s biased to some students, and unfair to others. For example, why am I not allowed to wear hat, but female students can wear leashes, and collars, and skirts above the knee? Dress code isn’t a distraction unless the student chooses to be distracted. I feel as if something needs to be done. If a female student comes to school in shorts and an oversized t-shirt, they should be allowed to do so. It’s not a distraction, it’s a fashion choice. If a male student chooses to come to school with a company, religious, or political hat, they should be allowed to do so. It’s not a distraction. It’s a fashion choice. What I don’t understand is why would a teacher or principal go out of their way just to tell a student he/she isn’t allowed to wear what they like? Why is it so hard to realize that we live in a free country, with rights to ourselves? Why is it so hard to just let the student wear what they want?
