Rachel Mitchell started this petition to Healthcare Staff and Students at Ulster

Despite overwhelming opposition from staff and students about undergraduate health sciences moving from Jordanstown campus to Magee Campus, these voices were ignored and the courses are moving there. This move is not ideal for staff and students as shown by the consultation in 2020. What was the purpose of the consultation if the opinions of the people most affected by the move were going to be disregarded anyway? We urge Ulster University to reconsider and think of the negative impact such a drastically different location would have on the lives of staff and students. A survey of Physiotherapy (one of many health courses affected) second years last year showed 82.5% were not satisfied with the proposed campus move to Magee. 75% felt staff and students were not listened to in order to come to the decision. The full details of this survey can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SnVe_SOHTYv0-hC8nTRSnEEtXe_p1iVf/view?ts=60193080 The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy also said they will support student opinion.

This petition further solidifies the overwhelming opposition of healthcare sciences moving to Magee and the disregard for our voices when we counted on Ulster to hear them.
