Chetan Chaudhari started this petition to Health Ministry, Govt of India

There shall be a Law for diagnosed patients of serious infectious diseases (like HIV, Hepatitis B, COVID etc) to mandatorily disclose their disease info prior to proceeding consultation/treatment by healthcare professional to reduce occupational hazards of exposure to blood and infected materials.

Universal Precautions are not sufficient in country like india as Doctors are overburdened and work in stressful situations due to shortage of doctors and healthcare staff, while patient's understanding of infectivity of disease is lower due to illiteracy and many other reasons.

Thus, this act will help increase morals of healthcare professionals to deliver services in difficult and stressful emergencies.
This will help further increase doctor patient relationship.

This will help decrease chances of pxandemics of highly infective diseases in future. So, this law can be a further extension to epidemic act which is applicable only during epidemics.

While, COVID has already taught people about the awareness of diseases and importance of distancing and their roles and responsibilities to curtail the spread of such diseases.

This will help increase sensible understanding amongst public in general about diseases, their infectivity, medicolegal aspects of any disease.

Despite of Post exposure prophylaxis to such diseases, Doctors & Nurses get depressed and significantly demotivated after they encounter such high risk contact just because patient didn't reveal their illness status in time.
