Why this petition matters

Started by C4UK

C4UK aims to get Vitamin C for all UK NHS hospitals to protect the lives of NHS staff and patients. Our NHS staff are risking their lives every second of every day to save the lives of patients who are critically ill with COVID-19. NHS staff should be given everything possible to help protect themselves and their families.

In Wuhan China all hospital workers and volunteers are given 2 grams of vitamin C to keep their immune systems strong.  Patients are given 6 grams of more daily. ICU patients are given intravenous vitamin C, which has cut death rate by a third. Both oral high dose and intravenous vitamin C has been shown to shorten ICU stay and time on ventilators by up to 25%, increase survival rate and shorten severity and duration of infection by up to 46%. It is time for a paradigm shift in the UK to bring this safe, effective and cheap nutrient into mainstream medicine. Dr Linus Pauling proved vitamin C's effect on colds and flu in 1980! Why have we waited for 40 years? (See the scientific evidence.)

Frontline NHS staff are exhausted from the demands of battling COVID-19 and have little time to eat and rest, which is likely to have a negative impact on the immune system. Vitamin C supplement sales have skyrocketed in recent months and availability in supermarkets and shops has plummeted. NHS staff wanting to protect themselves with Vitamin C supplements will now find it much harder to source. C4UK’s aim to make sure frontline NHS staff have access to daily vitamin C, will mean they do not need to miss out due to shortages in supermarkets and shops.
