EHS has recently sent out an e-mail communicating to parents that they will deduct 20% from the tuition  fees.  Many parents and caretakers feel that this is not a fair deduction given the current circumstances due to the following reasons:

1. We appreciate the efforts put forth by the teachers however it is important to highlight this is not normal education provision. The majority of the effort is done by the parents who are working from home and teaching their children.  A 20% reduction in the tuition fee does not reflect this.

2. The vast majority of children are not in school therefore they cannot benefit from the school’s resources and personalised teaching experience which is the key element of independent schools.

3. The school has greatly decreased its daily expenditure as such,  parents feel it is only right to greatly decrease tuition for the next semester.

4. Businesses have seen a significant decrease in income during this time. We appreciate they have amended the costs as do all households in this unique circumstance and should meet us half way.

5. Other schools in the surrounding area including Blue Coats, Hallfield, and Norfolk are including greater discounts.

6. Many EHS parents are self-employed and their cash flow is affected. A decision to not reduce the tuition further could have serious financial repercussions for the families and the school if EHS are not understanding at this point in time.

7. Parents propose a 50% reduction in tuition fees for the next term.

 8. School fees can be reassessed come June if the students return to school.
