Please sign this petition to allow the boarding students to have a voice in the place they live.

The school has chosen to change the boarding corridors completely without any of the students' voice. They have decided to put all the year groups students together into house groups instead of the current year groups per corridor. Every student living in the boarding rooms detests against this new change although the boarding staff don't want to hear it. 

Allow me to elucidate further. The boarding rooms have always been placed in year groups. One corridor would have year 7,8 & 9 and another corridor would be year 10 & 11. Although as of next school year, they have decided to change the corridors to each school house in different corridors anguishing every boarding student. So therefore there will be Brunel years 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 in one corridor and so forth for the other school houses.

We students detest this because as a lot of us will be moving into year 11, the amount of noise the younger years will make will be incredibly loud whilst we study in our rooms for GCSE. They will annoy us older years all day everyday as some do as of now but even worse if the corridors change as we'll be moved closer to them. The cleanliness of the boarding house will influence the entire boarding corridors (as seen in the picture above) and the place will always be untidy. The privacy we now have will be stripped from us as the younger kids don't quite understand privacy as we elders do due to maturity and growth. Lastly, due to current rising covid cases in England, changing the corridors to each house group will only make covid worse throughout the school and harder to isolate the year groups if covid outbreaks within a year group like it has before. These aren't guesses, they're facts as I myself have experienced.   

The boarding staff have stripped us of our student voice and given the voice only to themselves. The student are left with no power over the place they live although it is us students that live in the corridors and not the staff.
