Recently one of my friends emailed the Head teacher of our school in response to the possibility of a prom or a replacement event. The head teacher responded to this email agreeing to organise a meeting that would involve The head teacher, my friend and 2 deputy head teachers(one of which was in agreement on having the event and the second who was not). It was written in the email that the meeting would take place after the current block of assessments. However today( 07/05/21) my friend, with no prior heads up was abruptly called out of class to have the meeting while she was studying for an assessment taking place later that day. This resulted in my friend entering this meeting with no time to prepare. When she entered the meeting only the head teacher and one of the deputy head teachers was there(the one who was not in agreement) rather than the 2 teachers that they agreed on. This lead to the whole thing being very intimidating for my friend. As the meeting went on the head teacher supposedly shut down my friends points and ideas and forced her to point out any flaws with the idea, and rather than discussing work arounds the head teacher used these points to further shut the idea down. This lead to my friend getting upset and giving up on fighting for the event as she felt the situation was quite unfair and badly handled , seeing as she was brought for the meeting during a time she was told she wouldn't and didn't get a chance to properly display her ideas and points.

Quite frankly I agree with my friend on the situation being unfair and as a result of this I have made this petition to show that she is not alone and that we all agree that there should be something done at the end of the year. Especially due to the fact that this is a big moment for us seeing as we are leaving school and for some it may be the last time we see one another.
