Standard Chartered is still harassing me even after closing the loan

In September 2007, I had taken a loan of 1 Lakh 05 thousand from Standard Chartered (loan against my credit card). I was going through a very bad financial situation (my father had three heart attacks, bypass, cancer, and I had to leave my job too as my company was not ready to give me any more leaves to take care of my family situation).
Later I found a job, and slowly started paying off all my loans. A settlement officer by the name of Anup Shetty reached out to me and offered me a settlement of Rs. 45000. On 29th January 2010, I paid off the complete amount and he issued me a receipt too. He told me that everything will be taken care of.
However, I used to get calls once in a while from an agency called Shaha Finlease regarding the due payments and I used to give them Anup’s number and tell them that he has settled it. Recently, I happened to check my CIBIL score and was shocked to see that my standard chartered loan is open since Jan 2010 and it is showing behind 38 payments. I reached to the settlement officer Anup Shetty (luckily I had his number). He had quit Standard Chartered and gave me some merry go round answers to avoid me.
Then I wrote to this e-mail Id Countryhead.Retailbanking@sc.com which is supposedly the highest authority for solving any unresolved grievances. A guy called Karthiv V. V from the Office of Head; Customer Service kept on asking me to send the proofs. I mailed it to him several times, but he kept on saying that it is not clear. I know that he was just avoiding my issue. Hence I asked him to check his data base for the letter number BLR290110004 which they had issued to me as a receipt of my payment ( because the banks do keep a copy of all the customer communication in their data base) but he never took the pain in doing that.
I am raising this complaint, so that more and more people are aware when they take any loans/do any settlements. Never trust these bank guys. I was not aware then, and after eight years I am facing this issue. Anyway, since I have resolved never to take any more loans, I don’t care about my CIBIL score anymore, but for many this might be an eye opener.
