Weekend Access for G-Block at UWE Bower Ashton

Over the past semester, many students across film and media courses, who frequently use the 'G-Block' building, have found that production of their work becomes increasingly harder as more people use the equipment and work spaces. During a typical semester, many different years and courses can be at a critical stage in their work at the same time, meaning a shortage of equipment, PC rooms with essential software and workspaces, which ultimately leads to compromising with less than acceptable work and increased stress.

However, one solution for combating this is having G-Block open on the weekend, a time when it is normally closed to students most in need. Saturday and Sunday can be valuable extra time for taking advantage of the extensive equipment provided there, which would otherwise go unused. As well as relieving stress and workload when important projects are on, this could enable more self-inspired learning with various software and gear which the average student might not otherwise get access to.
