Our Department the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Durban University of Technology continues to force us students to write contact-based exams on campus failing to take in account the safety of the university’s student community and their families.

We have made several attempts individually to contact and reason with our department from which we have not got any response or solutions.

Therefore, we have been forced to take a more unwelcomed and drastic approach to invoke a response from our department. We the students of Mechanical Engineering need to fight for our safety together, we are proposing a stay away from our scheduled campus contact exams. To show our disapproval of the decisions made by our department.
