HDFC Home Loan Online access has earlier provided customer access to know their current outstanding amount. This was helpful for customers to know their balance principal amount, so that they can manage their home loan efficiently.

Other banks too gives this facility on their online platforms for their customers. When contacted HDFC to know why it was removed, they say customer has to contact HDFC branch to know their balance. In this digital age, it is irresponsible and absurd to make customers take a more difficult as well as time consuming path of contacting the branch to know the balance. Covid lockdown too makes it impossible to reach branch office.

We see no reason to block this access to customer when other banks make this information available easily. This is a basic thing and a right of customer to know the details of Principal outstanding online.

Note - Their Smart Phone App too does not work. It gives "Internet does not work" error although internet is working fine. On reading the comments of HDFC home loan app on Apple store, it was already raised by many long back and HDFC never bothered to fix a simple App issue.
