William Austin started this petition to HCHS Math Department

Due to the extraordinary circumstances of this year's math course, we believe it would be unfair to impose a test that is cumulative of the full year of the curriculum. We had three different teachers with three different styles of teaching and three different levels of effectiveness. This makes it extremely hard to synthesize the information from all these different teachers, and therefore to study for this test.

Furthermore, our first teacher Ms. GH, through no fault of her own, was unable to attend class for a considerable amount of days that she was supposed to. While this worked out to acceptable results in the midterms, that is no longer the case. The entire curriculum has changed, and the subjects with it. The subjects learned in the tumultuous learning period before the midterms do not build towards those after, and due to them being in a different style of teaching, months ago, online, and already having been tested twice with unit exams and the midterm, it is our opinion that it does not make sense to unnecessarily test them again.

These times are already confusing and difficult enough to muddle through, and there is no reason to continue to exacerbate the situation. We ask you, respectfully, to consider our proposal to make the final exam cumulative of only the second, coherent, untested semester.
