Henry Clay High School is too hot, it needs to be cooled!

Classroom temperature, whether we know it or not, has a large impact on students’ energy rate, memory, and ability to learn overall. At HCHS and many other schools, students and staff have noticed that classrooms are excessively Hot. On October 23, 2017, my math class was 87°, while outside it was 60°. This is outrageous. Studies from Loyola provide evidence of student test scores taken in different temperatures. The highest average was taken from the classroom in a room that was 72°. The second lowest was in an 81° classroom. School systems, with intentions of creating a healthy & comfortable learning environment, have a direct obligation to accommodate to the needs of student bodies and staff. This petition is intended to raise awareness to the problem and find a way to solve it. To prevent this problem from furthering, I strongly urge you to sign this petition. Together, we can end sweaty armpits throughout our school!
