I’m an aspiring screenwriter and never in a million ways should the writers ever thought about that ending. I know that they ran out of source material but they could have ended things way better. They turned good characters into emotional uncontrollable villains in the span of one season (basically two three episodes). I feel very bad for the people who had to stay up every Sunday excited for 8 years for that total horrible finale. Me personally if they had just made the long night episode the finale and added a extra hour and a couple minutes after the battle where Jaime is able to confront Cersei for not helping and still caring so much for power and then stabbed her after realizing how evil she was. That would have made more sense. Jon Snow would never kill someone who he has a family tie to. What’s the point of revealing he’s a Targaryen if he’s just gonna kill one of his own. Furthermore, after Cersei dies and Jaime holds Cersei in his hands, Tyrion could have made his way there and hug Jaime to have a impactful emotional moment with his family. Then they could of done a time jump to four or five years or even more to where we see Jon Snow and Daenerys ruling the seven kingdoms together, and then we could of seen what other titles our other beloved characters would have. At the end of the day whether D&D rushed or just struggled to find a good ending, the ending that we got turned beloved characters to emotionless out of control animals. I highly doubt I’m sorry to yall but they’re never gonna make a remake especially after it has been five years but they really turned the greatest show of all time to disappointment.

I have never watched game of thrones until about a month ago july 2024. After watching last episode of house of dragon season 2 I kept watching got pop up. After episode 1 I got hooked! So for the past month I’ve binged watched all 8 season until last week I saw season 8 finale. That was the worst finale episode / season in the history of tv. It did not make sense at all and now I’m left with a void in my heart of what could’ve been.
