Dear HBO Staff,

We implore you not to air the Phoenix Rising documentary made by Evan Rachel Wood and Ilma Gore that is planned to be released on March 15th, 2022. There are outrageous claims in this documentary about Marilyn Manson that are untrue and slanderous. There is no proof of the abuse and rape allegations to begin with, but now new information has come forward that there has been harassment, fraud, and defamation of Marilyn Manson's (a.k.a. Brian Hugh Warner's) character surrounding this situation of allegations.

As you may be aware, Marilyn Manson has released a document detailing his lawsuit against Ilma Gore and Evan Rachel Wood (Lawsuit Document Link: Marilyn Manson's Lawsuit). He has already experienced emotional distress and has had his reputation ruined. Please do not allow this farce to continue by releasing a documentary that will cause further harm to Marilyn Manson. It is irresponsible and will cause further damage to his career and personal life, possibly even his safety, if you release Phoenix Rising. 

Included in Manson's lawsuit is a section that states Gore and Wood have orchestrated the abuse and rape claims with other women connected to Manson. Gore and Wood allegedly recruited other women to come out with various forms of sexual abuse and assault allegations and coordinated them to all come out with these claims simultaneously. The document goes on to say that checklists and scripts were dispersed to each woman so they could plan out exactly what to say in their claims. In addition to this, the lawsuit says that Wood actually impersonated an FBI agent by writing a letter and passing it along to the recruits. Apparently, the letter made it appear that there was an ongoing investigation surrounding Manson and that the accusers and their families could be in danger. It appears intent was to sway the recruits to make their accusations and go along with whatever Wood and Gore said. If this is just a hoax and you air this documentary, think of how this will make your network look. 

 Read about the lies, deceit, forgery, harassment, defamation, and slander in the lawsuit document for yourselves. Before you air this documentary, we ask you to look at the document and do your own research on these women. Even if you do not appreciate or like Marilyn Manson as an artist or a person, it does not mean that you should contribute to his distress and the defamation of his character by airing this documentary. If the documentary airs, members of a potential jury may be influenced to make a decision based on what they have watched, heard, or read about the allegations. It would be irresponsible of you to interfere with the legal process by releasing Phoenix Rising before any litigation takes place.

People of good character DO NOT impersonate FBI agents and forge documents in their names to further their whims. People of good character DO NOT orchestrate schemes to slander others (and convince others to join in) to further their fame, get attention, and earn money. Read the lawsuit and ask yourselves: What caliber of people do these things? What is their motive behind these actions? Do you believe that it is right and just to further their goals by giving them a platform? Do the right thing and stop the release of Phoenix Rising.
