To The Honorable Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Australia; The Honorable Greg Hunt, Federal Minister for Health; The Hon Karen Andrews MP, Minister for Industry, Science and Technology: The Hon Daniel Andrews MP, Premier of Victoria.

Frontline healthcare workers are putting their best efforts forward to help patients throughout Australia, during this COVID-19 pandemic. As the nation progresses into isolation, healthcare workers continue to fight through this and are at the highest risk of being exposed and being infected by the Coronavirus. As a result, their families and loved ones are also at risk and this continues to affect their communities further.

Research done by J.G. Adams (MD) & R. Walls (MD) in the Journal of American Medical Association, has shown that this crisis impacts healthcare workers' risk of infection and the overwhelming burden can also lead to stress causing burnout. Due to the limited supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) and Coronavirus tests kits in Australia, healthcare workers have become more vulnerable in this war against the virus. Countries like China and Italy are unfortunate examples of this. China's National Health Commision has even stated that more than 3000 health workers have been affected, resulting 13 deaths.

Therefore, it is vital that healthcare workers deserve and require support from the government by receiving an increase in pay or supplement payment for putting their lives on the frontline and helping our loved ones. This hazard pay is essential for Australia to continue and sustain the health workforce as we fight together against this pandemic.

Thank You,

All Healthcare Workers in Australia
