Hiking and swimming have become more than just my daily/weekly routines, they have become an integral part of my family outings. Please allow us to continue our family life the way we know and love it.

The Hawaiian Islands is a unique place in the world, and, just like the grand canyon, should be enjoyed by people who are willing to take the risk and responsibility associated with outdoor extreme sports. I live here and want to enjoy nature from as many beautiful spots as possible, and blocking off sections of Hawaii's nature that is there to be enjoyed, is therefore obviously NOT in Hawaii's best interest.

Hawaii boasts some of the most biodiverse and exotic wilderness environments on Earth. As well, Hawaii boasts some of the US' largest tourism rates, with more than 8 million visitors each year, many who wish to explore these exotic natural landscapes. With these ideas in mind, it would only make sense that for both the state of Hawaii and its visitors, to better distinguish these liability protocols so that these lands can be open for rock climbing, one of the best ways to explore these public lands and allow visitors to get the best experience of recreating in their wilderness environments.

public lands should be just that..public..it is at the public's own risk to choose to do anything on those public lands that put them at risk. People have a right to choose and no government should seek to try to protect individuals from themselves.

People enjoy the world in every aspect, outdoor enthusiasts tend to know the risks of what they are doing and accept them. Guiding companies that take people out have safety procedures and liability waivers in place to provide security both to their guests, themselves and to maintain the places they guide at. Shutting down public access to the world around us is denying people their right to experience life fully, fear holds people back, it should be a bolster, not a bolted door.

I love getting outside and enjoying nature. It relaxes me. Without the ability to get away, I have less activity choices that I enjoy doing.
