America is a land of choices. We choose to pay money for things like movies, sporting events, and television. As consenting adults, what is the difference between paying $5 to play Fantasy Football or spending $9 to see a movie in a theater. Both are for our entertainment and enjoyment, yet only one is regulated by lawmakers. These lawmakers claim that lower income families would be burdened by debt if Daily Fantasy Sports was made legal. Their intentions are good but there follow through is flawed. Playing Daily Fantasy Sports is a choice, just like going to the movies. Does the price of watching a Warriors Football Game ($20- $75 a ticket) burden lower income families? The answer is no, because we, as Americans, choose our form of entertainment. We choose when, where and how! The Taxes and Fees gained from having Daily Fantasy Sports could be used to help fund Education and Homeless initiatives. The benifits gained from these initiatives would only serve to help lower income families who need it the most. I urge you to tell our leaders we must not cling to old fears, we must embrace change. We must not continue to tell responsable Americans how to spend their hard earned money. We must act today to Legalize Daily Fantasy Sports.
