I'm afraid to have issues with so many refugees from Syria. I live in Hawaii for 20 years, I'm originally from Israel, I have experience with Syrian people.

We cannot afford the risky practice of bringing in people at this time in History with people wanting to do Americans harm. If people want to come, let them apply legally as in the past so they can be vetted properly.

Islam is a fascist religion and immigration sucks because they hate our culture. Also we do not need more people and they would not go back. Damn overpopulation!

Governor Ige is simply responding to the political whims of the OBAMA administration. It has nothing to do with what is good or bad for Hawaii. That is given no thought. It's politics pure and simple. If the Governor thinks it is such a good idea, he should take it to the people in Hawaii (especially if he wants a prayer of being reelected and protecting his party majority.

even if fully vetted, we can't afford to bring more needy, homeless people into Hawaii. first, let's take care of our own.

If we cannot adequately vet those who want to harm us, we need to take this action to protect ourselves and our families. Just look around the world at the unquestionable danger.

Civil war is a horrible thing, it always has been. The refugees should be given a safe location, until the war is over, at which time they need to go back and rebuild their country. Moving to the USA is NOT the answer. The world (UN) has a humanitarian obligation to fund these camps.

We do not need refugees who may not have our best interests and safety at heart. We cannot take care of our own homeless. We are already over taxed on the ridiculously hideous and not needed rail and having to care for questionable refugees can only increase our taxes. It is not fair to them. They cannot easily assimilate into our culture and lifestyle. Send them to a country closer to their own heritage and customs.

We have no money to support their transportation to Hawaii, the housing, feeding, and education of refugees. The potential jobs are few and language would be a barrier.
